Easter Madness

Abbity Rabbity

Ok, well it wasn’t really madness but I thought that it was going to be.  Now having two young kids makes everything take longer and just seem like more of a pain in the booty.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my girls but holy cow now we have even more crap to lug around, especially on a Holiday visit to the in-laws.

However, this Easter I was pleasantly surprised, it went very smooth….omg did I say that?  I could not believe how awesome my Easter was.

Lily was so well behaved and I was so proud of her as she didn’t gather ALL of the Easter eggs during the hunt at Grandma’s, she left some for her younger cousins.  Abby was the best baby EVER!  She cried when she wanted to be fed, took naps when she was tired and even did some socializing.  I just couldn’t believe how un-stressed I was….it was a very nice feeling.

However, the days before Easter were a bit stressful for me.  You see, I am a very organized gal…ok I used to be before I had the girls.  Normally, I would have had all of my Easter stuff done at least the weekend if not a few days before.  This time, I didn’t start until Friday and I was still putting things together on Saturday night, which drove me a bit batty.  The whole time I was putting Lily’s Easter basket together I was so sure she was going to come bounding down the stair and ruin the surprise, but she didn’t and I stressed for no reason.  She slept through the night, unlike me though.  I was up every two hours with Abby and then up at 6:30 when Lily woke up to see what the Easter Bunny brought.  *sigh*  So we started our day pretty early and I had a headache the entire day, but it was still a good day.

Happy New Years

We spent New Years at Daria’s house and Lily really wanted to wear something with sparkles and a poofy skirt.  She had fun hanging out with cousin Kenny and Wyatt.

Lou’s brought over Guitar Hero and Rock Band AC/DC so we could rock out.

I was hoping to find some photos from the infamous New Years Eve 1999 party, but not very many of them were ‘post-able’ in the family blog..LOL. This was the only one I could find and I have NO idea what we were doing here, but it looks like we are having a good time.  This was about 11 months before we were married.

Cullo Christmas

We had a great time at Christmas spending the Eve with my family and the day with Lou’s family.

The highlight from Christmas Eve was visiting with BizNona as she now lives in a care home but my mom was able to ‘check her out’ for a few hours and bring her home.

The highlight from Christmas Morning is always watching Lily open her gifts.

The highlight from Christmas Day was watching Baby Wyatt’s reaction to getting Chicken Dance Elmo and seeing him take a few steps…Wyatt, not Elmo.

Happy Holidays From The Cullo’s

Happy Holidays !! We are glad you found us.  We are currently working on a new and improved Cullo Family Blog, so until it is finished you can read all about our family on Dawn’s personal blog site.

Abby
We are currently working on getting ready for the newest Cullo to join the family and she is due to arrive mid January, we have decided to call her Abigail Grace.

Lily is very excited to become a big sister and really jazzed to be able to teach her fun things like how to play with all her toys, the kitties and baby signs.  We are so blessed to be able to grow our family and can’t wait until she arrives.

You can read more about Baby Abigail Cullo 2010 updates on her blog.

Lily School

Lily turned 4 in September and is in Preschool, she just loves it.   Each day that she comes home she is full of all kinds of stories about what she did at school and you can tell that she really enjoys it.

When she is at home she loves to play with her kitties Sassy and Roxy as well as read books with Mommy and Daddy and she loves to draw.

It seems that her new favorite thing is to play with my Flip video camera and take all sorts of Videos.  You can see her videos by visiting our video page on this site or on our YouTube Channel.

Louis is still working for Delta Dental in Rancho Cordova as a workforce analyst and still enjoys helping Lily with her math questions, teaching her card games and playing guitar with her.

He is also busy around the house getting things ready for Abigail’s arrival by putting furniture together and rearranging things around the house.

Thunderbirds, Birthday Party, Nascar & Football

Wow, what a weekend I just had. The California Capital Airshow was in town and the Thunderbirds put on quite a show.  We live very near the Mather Airport so it is easy for us to drive down the street to check out the planes.  We are also able to view the practice sessions that they have on Thursday & Friday prior to the airshow. Here is my favorite picture from the Thunderbirds practice which took place on September 11, 2009.  You can see more on my Flickr Account

Then on Saturday we went to the airshow and spent about 2 hours there and then headed back to our secret viewing spot to view the Thunderbirds show later in the afternoon. LilyThunderbirds That night there was a Nascar Night race, which is my favorite kind of racing.  Then on Sunday Lily we had Lily’s family birthday party (4th Birthday) along with opening weekend for Football AND DirecTV had their NFL Season Ticket for free that day so the whole family (ok, just the guys) were playing with that. All of my favoriate things were rolled up into one weekend – Thunderbirds, Nascar, Family and Football.  I am still tired from it all.

Mother’s Day is Everyday

I know that it is a wee bit early for Mother’s Day stuff, but this was on my mind and thus I blog.

My entire life I have always been a little busy bee. I can hardly watch a TV show (except Lost) without having to thumb through a magazine! Seriously, I think I might have an attention disorder. That is why it is in my nature to have several things in my life to juggle.

Right now in my professional life am working on so many things and pulling in so many different directions that I just might explode but I do love it. I just recently launched my own Virtual Assisting company focused on Internet Marketing such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube and I am learning a lot along the way. I have learned from other more seasoned Virtual Assistants, Business Coaches and Spiritual Coaches. I have invested my time and money in growing my business. I have also launched this Blog site and I am working on branding myself as a Mommy Blogger. I really admire the Walmart Elevenmoms project and wish to somehow be a part of that team of women. For now, that ship has sailed and they are not accepting anyone else in their program so I will just continue on this path and grow my brand and hope that one day I can join them.

However, if I could just push all of the workstuff aside I just want to be Lily’s mom and spend everyday enjoying her world.  I wish I could be one of those moms who does nothing but be a mom and of course have a housekeeper!  Does that mom exist, I am not sure but I suppose that is what Mother’s day is for. I don’t expect a fancy present on Mother’s Day, just some time with Lily without other life distractions. I think that this year I will see if we can go to the Spa together, yes she is only 3 1/2 but maybe I can find a place where they do fun things for girls too.

I am an avid photographer as well and I have a zillion pictures of Lily and I often look back though some of them and just cry, I am not going to lie it was tough being a new mommy.  It is nothing like you think it is going to be, you basically give up your self and take the backseat on everything.  You are tired, you are hungry and all you want to do is run away and go shopping just to get a break.  I am lucky in that Louis has been the most wonderful husband and would let me escape for an hour to the local super Walmart just so I could go walk around in peace, yes peaceful at Walmart.

dscn1651This is a picture of me and Lily and she is about 6 months old.  When I look back at her photos the hard times are still memories but as time goes by those memories of sleepless nights, short naps and breast feeding issues fade away and all I have left are the photographs of the good times.  It is no secret that we have been trying to get pregnant again but we have not been successful, that includes the miscarriage this past December.  I have actually been on the ‘fence’ about having another baby but when I look at all the wonderful photographs of Lily over the past years my heart just soars and I want another baby. I know that Lily is going to be a great big sister too because she is great with her new baby cousin Wyatt.  She holds his hand and rubs his head when he is drifting off to sleep.  She keeps asking me and Louis when we are going to get another baby and she put in her request for a girl baby, we will see what we can do!

Lily is 3

Wow, she is 3. It has been 3 years since I was hold up in my bed for a few days watching the Katrina and Rita Hurricanes. Every year her birthday comes around I remember that and now this year there was Hurricane Gustav to worry about. At least we don’t live in Hurricane country so we don’t need to worry about that.

Anyway, I can’t believe that it has been 3 years since Lily entered our lives. I won’t kid you, it has been tough. It has been a huge learning curve. Especially with the discovery of my Thyroid condition making me crazy, moving when she was 11 months, then again when she was 14 months and finding more out about Lily’s High Spirited personality and stong willed tempermant. I wish I would have just known about all of that instead of having to discover it on our own so that we could of not had to struggle so much. But non the less, it has made us stronger and able to deal with situations now in a better way. All the baby books were crap for us because Lily broke the mold. She never slept more than 8 hours, was a nightmare to get to sleep (I am talking 1 1/2 hours to get down) never had a consistent appetite, stopped taking naps years ago and walked at 10 1/2 months. It has been a challenge but I love her so much I wouldn’t change a thing about her. All of the traits that she has now are going to stay with her and she is going to grow up to be a kick ass girl that no one will mess with.

I create a picture collage of her every year. I start with a birthday party picture from the year before and then try to put in one from each month.

Here is her 3 year collage.

1. September – Her 2nd birthday party
2. September – Disneyland for her 2nd birthday
3. October – Pony ride at a pumpkin patch
4. October – Tricks Gymnastics Halloween Party
5. November – Hanging out at the house (we just moved in)

9. February – Getting ready for the Princess Ice Show
10. March – Hanging out at the Punchline, onstage, talking into the Mic telling jokes
11. April – At the park, she blew on a flower and wished for a doggie, then saw one in the park
12. May – Funderland eating a snow cone
13. May – Auntie Kathy’s wedding, she was a flower girl
14. June – Father’s Day Photo
15. August – Haning out with Roxy
16. August – Backyard photo session.

Happy Thanksgiving

We hosted the Cullo and Winston Family for Thanksgiving. We had 12 people and two kids for dinner, the kids slept through the dinner which was wonderful. However, I have come to realize how hard it is to host a party and take care of a kid. It is stressful because I really want to be the host and get people drinks or help out in the kitchen but it is near impossible when a two year old is screaming for your attention. Lily was also a little bit sick on Thanksgiving so she really wanted her Mama to hold her and play with her. I think that she was also overwhelmed that there were so many people in her house. She didn’t really want to be in the same room with everyone, she wanted to go into a room where no one else was hanging out. Like I said, eventually she went down for a nap and I was allowed to eat my dinner in peace. I have no idea how my mom juggled hosting parties and taking care of me.

Now I know why people drink once they have kids, it is a needed realaxing tool.

Happy Halloween

Feeling a little witchy?

Lily wanted a cheerleader outfit for Halloween but I also got a great deal on a Baby Jaguar costume. It was FREE! The guy at the gap never rang it up.

On Halloween she decided to go as a Raider Cheerleader.

But she also had this cheerleader outfit for dress up and wore it to Brady Anderson’s 1st Birthday party a few days before Halloween.
She also got to wear a Halloween costume to her Gymnastics class.

My Friend Kathy is getting married!

My friend Kathy is getting married on May 10, 2008. He is a link to their wedding site.
Here are some vintage photos of us from 1987 ….I have more but these were on my computer.

My Birthday Party – I turned Two!

Cousin Kenny came to my party. This is the first time I am ‘holding’ him.
Dada helped me open my gifts.

I played with Julia all afternoon. She is a lot of fun.

Playing with Julia

Julia and I got to play together at Easter. We were playing hide & seek but decided to take a break and have a snack.

Wonderful Holiday Season

So again has passed another Holiday season and Louis and I are exhausted. We moved before Thanksgiving and also had to do all of our Holiday fun (shopping, decorating and FaLalalalaing) while we were unpacking and making trips to IKEA and Home Depot. Hopefully next year things wont be so crazy and we can just enjoy the Holiday season instead of being so tired from unpacking and putting together bookcases and other fun things for the house.

Christmas Eve was at our house with the Winston’s.
Louis brinned a Turkey and it was very good.
Lily took bows off of the presents and put them in her hair.

Nona & Grandpa Bill got her a wagon and a Tickle Me Elmo. She loves to ride in her Wagon with her Singing Mickey Mouse.

Christmas Day dinner was at the Cullo’s
Lily was so happy to run around and hang out with her Cousins Donovan and Julia.

The best present that we all received was from Michel and Stuart, they are going to have a baby at the end of July. We are all very excited for them.

Happy Anniversary

Louis and I celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary on Saturday November 18th. We also renewed our wedding vows at St. Ignatius Church witnessed by our immediate family of the Ty’s, Cullo’s, Winston’s and Veverka’s. It was a very nice ceremony and Louis and I celebrated later that evening….with our first dinner out without Lily Belle. We went to Ruth’s Chris and had a wonderful time. Much to my surprise Lily Belle behaved very well at her Grandma Cullo’s house and loved playing with her cousins. Guess we will have to go out to dinner more often without her.

Here is the only pictures we got from the ceremony. Lily Belle was pretty tired and didn’t want to take pictures. She looked so cute in a black top and white silk skirt with black kitties on it.

Ok, so this is a crappy picture, the sun was in my eyes. Yes, my hair is very short now and I will be growing it out again.

Lily Belle was running away from me and I told her to stop running so she laid down on the ground instead. UGH!

1st Birthday Party

It’s My Birthday Party and I got to eat cake !! Whoo HOO
This is me and my BizNona, she is a lot of fun.
This is me climbing on all the presents.
Cousin Julia and I played together a lot.

Checking out the presents again.

1st Birthday Party

Happy 1st Birthday to Lily Belle
She looked so pretty in her party dress.
Saturday, September 9, 2006
We celebrated Lily’s first birthday with our family and friends. Lily had a great time playing with her cousins and new buddies Patrick and Ryan. She loved opening presents and eating cake for the first time.
She loved eating the cake and getting very messy.

I was Baptized!

This is a picture of me and my Auntie Daria who is also my God Mother.

After I was Baptized I went swimming at Grandma’s house. Here is a picture of me in my polka dotta bikinni.

Me, Mommy and Daddy had a good time in the sun. I am in my frog floaty thing from CostCo…love it.

Lily’s Baptism

Lily’s Baptism took place at St. Ignatius Church on Saturday, July 15th. She was great through the entire thing. She didn’t even cry when the Deacon poured the holy water on her head. She thought it was time for a bath. We were very blessed to have so many people in attendance for her Baptism. Her Aunt Daria is her GodMother….or as we like to call her Daria Cullo, GM.

Happy Father’s Day

Here is what Lily did for her Daddy’s first Father’s Day.
She wore a Daddy’s Girl shirt and STOOD up for one of the pictures.

Then she changed into a Raider Cheerleader outfit and posed with all of her Raider fan items and even two of Daddy’s Jerseys.

I made this collage because I couldn’t find a frame for all of the pictures. I think this is better than just a frame.

My First Easter

Happy Easter

Mommy explained this Easter Rabbit thing to me the other day but I still don’t really understand. However, when I woke up on Sunday morning there was a basket full of fun things for me to play with.

Even though I don’t really understand it I like it !!
I got a set of keys and a cell phone like Mommy and Daddy’s. I also got some small Disney boardbooks and a Pixar CD Storybook for the car.

Happy Easter

Mommy and I went to the Picture People to have my Easter picture done. I had a really good time and Mommy really likes the pictures too.

Happy Anniversary

Louis and I have been married for FIVE years now. On November 18, 2000 we finally said “WE DO”. We had tried to get pregnant since that day and it took us over four years to get a positive pregnancy test. It was a tough road but we helped each other on the emotional rollercoaster.

Last year at this time I recall how devastated I was to get another negative pregnancy test. I wanted those two lines to show up so badly and be able to give Louis a wonderful anniversary present. I started my next round of Clomid and the pharmacy had given me three extra pills. I did some research on the Internet and found that it would be OK to take one extra a day.

I guess that was all my body needed because I was present just three weeks later. However I wouldn’t know this until New Years Day and thus I was still depressed throughout the holiday season. I had taken a pregnancy test on Christmas Day hoping to share good news with both of our families but the test was negative. It wasn’t until a week later that our lives would change for ever. On New Years Day I took another test and finally saw the two lines I had dreamed about. I jumped on the bed and Lou woke up to me screaming “There are two lines” I just kept repeating myself and cried tears of joy.

Good things come to those who wait.

We have given each other the best five year anniversary present and her name is Lily. We didn’t do anything special for our anniversary. I made dinner (i.e. heated up a frozen meal) we watched the Kings game and tried to soothe Lily while she cried in between her feedings and poopy diapers.
Check out our family web site for more wedding photos
